Dear Family,
Tina got baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was baptized yesterday in Chilliwack so I'll send a picture when I get one.
Clive came to our ward and brought his friend Luke who is really interested in learning more, so we're hoping the Elders set up a return appointment.
We went out to the Reserve this week and I was so happy. It felt so familiar in such a different place. I couldn't stop beaming when I was telling everyone about the Book of Mormon and I realized I need to be this excited about telling everyone about the Book of Mormon, not just the First Nation's people. I'll learn... We met a girl named Autumn who hadn't prayed before and never has gone to church, but was really excited to learn more and really wanted to be baptized. She kept asking us where she could do it. We'll explain the commitment part to her tomorrow. :)
We had a member of the Seventy come this week. Elder Johnson. He asked us how long we spend teaching God is our Loving Heavenly Father.... He went on to point out that our investigators need to know what they're having faith in before they can have faith in God. If they just believe He is an essence or something, it may be really hard for them to pray to Him. And we can't have faith in something that's not real. So he invited us to ask Heavenly Father five questions so we could then help our investigators to understand the same. 1) Do you exist? 2) Do you know me? 3) Do you love me? 4) Are you my Father? and 5) Do you have a perfect, glorified body?
So that night I prayed and asked Heavenly Father those questions. (I've never asked Heavenly Father if He has a body!) As I asked each question, a feeling of peace swept over me and got stronger and stronger with each question I asked. I have already believed these things, but it is different to experience. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are two, separate Beings and that they have bodies of flesh and bone. I know Heavenly Father knows me and loves me, just as He loves each of His children. I know because I've asked. I know Heavenly Father answers these sincere questions and I know that anyone reading this and wanting to know can find out. (Even if you already know or think you know! :) ) It's been really helpful in teaching others about finding out if God is there.
Love you all.
Sister Thomson
